The Covid-19 pandemic as declared by the World Health Organization has not only created a global health hazard but also caused a severe “moral panic”. While COVID-19 has limited and fixed symptoms, the moral panic it caused has many manifestations. Today, not only global affairs and various related systems are tested because of the pandemic, but our moral values too.
Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, indicated that declaration of COVID-19 as pandemic was a “call for responsibility and solidarity”.
Amidst these, the youth has a prominent role to play. Therefore, the Maker Maljis of the College of Islamic Studies at Hamad Bin Khalifa University created the COVID-19 Challenge. This will be a series of 3 different challenges related to the coronavirus pandemic.
This is the time when the world's youth can get together and come up with creative solutions to ease the complications that we are living in. We are hoping that these challenges will unleash innovation among the youth. So if you are someone who has ideas or wants to make a difference, let us hear you out!
